31 Days of Character Creation #5 – Flabbergasted!

Today we will be making a character from the unique comedic tabletop RPG Flabbergasted! This is the game as described on its official website:

Flabbergasted is a rules-lite and narrative-driven tabletop RPG set in the roaring 20s! Comedic scenarios and light-hearted adventures are at the heart of Flabbergasted, drawing inspiration from the likes of Jeeves and Wooster and Fawlty Towers.

Set in the turn of the 20th century, you’ll take on the role of either an affable Aristocrat, an entrepreneurial Well-To-Do, an idealistic Bohemian, or one of the ever ready and steadfast Staff.

Together you and your friends will join an up-and-coming Social Club, get invited into secret societies and work towards leaving your mark in this world by cultivating your reputation.

I did some random rolls and came up with Dottie Webster, the curio shopkeeper using a playbook sheet for The Staff. Her late husband, Henry, was an archaeologist who died while on an expedition in the rain forests of Southeast Asia. At age 63, Dottie has devoted herself to her curio shop which started by selling strange things Henry would bring back from his trips.

For her Dilemma, Dottie has been caught up in a potential mystery. Her loyal customer, Edith Dawson has gone missing. All that was left behind in Edith’s house was a roughly scrawled note on her kitchen table that Dottie found when she came by to check in on her. The note read simply “the dismal seaside.” Dottie tucked the note away, but the more she thinks about the more she desires to go to the nearby seaside resort of Fishbourne-By-The-Sea to see if poor Edith has ended up there.
